This festival is the feast day of Santa Lucia who is the patron saint of fashion designers, as well as the blind. The locals gather in the Santa Lucia chapel located in the cathedral and pay homage to the saint.
The streets around the cathedral are filled with market stalls selling the wonders of Christmas, such as decorations and nativity scenes. Contact the tourist office in Barcelona for more information.
